| War Shots: 2000 IR/CWCC Nationals - My Photos
More so than usual, I found no time to take photos during the major fleet battles. So here are the only photos I was able to take, mostly during one-on-one battles on Friday afternoon.

In the first photo are (left to right, facing the camera) Nathan Blattau, Cameron Moury, and Dave Voghtman. The ships are the IJN Musashi, HMS Valiant (being worked on by Don Fisher), SMS Nassau (carried by Cameron), Marty Hayes' Prinz Eugen (on the concrete), Dave's USS North Carolina,
Orrill Ferguson's DKM Tirpitz, and my SMS Hindenburg.
In the second photo (L-R) John Boyer and Will Montgomery wait to launch their SMS Von der Tann and Bacon Maker #2,
respectively.

| Monday morning, and the Axis Fleet is assembled for battle. From left to right, back to front are: Dave Tuttle's SMS Baden, Matt Moury's SMS Von der Tann, Ed Shepherd's DKM Lützow, Nathan Blattau's IJN Musashi, Ken Kelly's SMS Derfflinger, Orrill Ferguson's DKM Tirpitz, my SMS Hindenburg, D.W. Fluegel's SMS Baden, and Cameron Moury's SMS Nassau.

| Hindenburg after the first sorte of Monday's morning battle, Fleet Battle #1. Amidships you can see where Will Montgomery's Veribus Unitis armed with well-aimed triple bow guns put a nice hole. He would do worse later in the week.

| Here "Good Steve" Andrews shows off the latest in "Traitor Wear." He and the other four captains of Austian-Hungarian battleships switched to the Allied side to create the "United Fleet." Because of their small size and even smaller target area, the Veribis Unitis-class battleships, or "Bacon Makers," are traditionally the core of the Axis Fleet, and their switch was deeply felt by the Axis.

| I had to travel on Wednesday so I missed those one-on-one, but I did get some photos of Friday's one-on-ones. Here Dave Lawrence in the Veribis Unitis battles Dave Voghtman's USS North Carolina.

| This sequence of shots is from a battle between Dave Lawrence and in the Veribis Unitis and Matt Moury in the SMS Von der Tann. Matt won.

| Just as Matt and Dave's battle was finishing up, Frank Pittelli in "Bacon Maker #1" and Cameron Moury in SMS Nassau went out to battle. I think Cameron won this one. In the least, Frank lost a turret early on in this battle.

| Here are a couple shots of Hindenburg at the end of Friday's battles. In the first photo you can see the chuck of PVC Will Montgomery's triple bow guns blew out of Bruno's barbette BRUNO.

| A close-up of BRUNO gives a better idea of the damage. During either Thursday's Convoy Battle or Friday's Fleet Battle #5, Will had nosed his Bacon Maker against the hull of the Hindenburg and fired point blank into the barbette. Looks like it's refit time again ;-)
